Eungella National Park, Qld

Being the nature freaks we've become during our travels, the things we heard about Eungella National Park certainly hit the spot. We came here to spot the platypus (= vogelbekdier) in the wild. Now everybody probably thinks that these animals are lamost extinct, but this is not true. Not that the population is booming in Australia, but they are shy animals so they just don't get spot that often. Luckily, there was a nice lodge near several viewing spots where you could have the chance to see them.. that is, if you were got up very early, was very quiet, and very lucky.

Coming through!

And guess what... yours truly did indeed spot the elusive platypus (no, this is not our own pic). We have again some great video footage, but the animal was to quick and far away for the digital camera. Don't worry, we saw some pretty impressive animals as well, including the Kookaburra, a giant 1.5 meter lizzard, and some very noisy white parrots. Check the pics and be patient for our upcoming DVD! No worries mates!
