Coming back from Eungella National Park, we decided that there would be nothing worthwhile enough to stop along our way to Airlie Beach - the gateway to the highly acclaimed Whitsunday Islands (guess they didn't see Heron Island yet). Now about the above pic, we haven't swum much in Australia (except for the Great Barrier Reef) because we are afraid of the jellyfish (not afraid to admit that ;-). Just click on the pic and read and be terrified.

Airlie Beach was a small seaside town bustling with backpakers and other partygoers. After exploring this place, we booked a one-day cruise across the Whitsunday Islands. Our allocated time for the East Coast was running out and we wanted to do so much more so 1 day it was. The weather was pretty bad on the day of our cruise, but we decided to go anyway. We visited Hamilton Island and Whitehaven Beach, renowned for its silky smooth 6 km stretch of sand. once we got there, it started to rain and the entire day was a little bit wet. We didn't really like it, maybe because we already went to Heron and the fact that the chances of getting stun by jellyfish were even higher here. However, the place deserves a second chance so you never know what the future might bring! On with the trip, straight to some more exploration of the Great Barrier Reef. Now that's something to look forward to so dive in with us people!!!
